Blue Dream is a sativa-dominant hybrid. Published splits run from 60% sativa (AllBud) to 70% for Humboldt Seed Organization's seed version, and Leafly rates it mostly energizing. The sativa side comes from Haze; its Blueberry parent is an indica.4,5,7,8
Mid-to-high. The median total THC across 2,118 state lab tests was 19.96%, and 7.8% of tests reached 25% or more. Recent results ran higher: 23.31% median in 2023 (128 tests) and 23.21% in 2024 (50).3
Sweet berry. On Weedmaps, 47% of flavor reports say blueberry, 29% berry and 24% earthy; Leafly users list berry, blueberry and sweet. Seed versions bred toward the Haze side can lean citrus, pine and incense.4,6,7
It depends on the grower, not the name. Blue Dream sells at every tier: Leafly puts the average at $20 a gram, and Headset found more brands selling it than any other strain. On Oct 3, 2026, the median eighth on Weedmaps ran from $17 in Detroit to $45 in Newark.4,9,10
Nobody has publicly claimed it. Blue Dream surfaced around 2003 as a clone-only cutting shared among Santa Cruz medical collectives, and Leafly's history of the strain calls the breeder unknown. Humboldt Seed Organization later bred a seed version from DJ Short Blueberry and Super Silver Haze.1,11
Almost none: 686 of the 1,243 tests that reported CBD found none, and the highest result was 0.61%. A separate CBD-rich line, Blue Dream CBD, was bred by crossing Blue Dream with California Orange CBD.3,12
